WHAT IS LOCUM?

Published on Invalid date

“Locum” – short for the Latin term – “Locum Tenens” which means “one who is holding a place.

A Locum Accountant is a person who temporarily holds the place of either you or a valuable member of your team to allow a consistent flow of work to be maintained without loss in value to the firm.

WHY DOES THE ACCOUNTING INDUSTRY NEED THE LOCUM SERVICE?

“It’s the continuity that matters.” – Dip Jadeja

It is a common human tendency to sometimes feel that “bad things” only happen to other people and not to ourselves or our loved ones. When faced by unpredictable circumstances, the lack of a contingency plan quickly leads to a loss in the value of your prized asset often faster than it has taken to create.

Continuity is key; our work centers around the provision of this service.

SITUATIONS IN WHICH THE LOCUM SERVICE MAY ASSIST YOU

  1. You need that well-earned break but cant afford to leave the Practice unattended
  2. A break to update you own qualifications with relative ease
  3. Illness or death in either the firm or a close family member
  4. Absence of an important team member for an extended period due to pregnancy, academic studies, sudden family demands
  5. A key personnel leaving all together during the busy time of year to pursue other goals

The Locum concept is already successfully established in the Medical and Legal professions.

Time for the Accounting industry to have its very own.
