1. A sense of personal fulfillment – successfully maintaining strong relationships in business is known to create a strong sense of personal fulfillment in many.

2. Improved communication skills – it’s no secret that one of the keys to successfully maintaining any relationship is communication. So it stands to reason that being more active in the development and maintenance of business relationships is going to be great news for your communication skills.

3. Get repeat business – maintaining a good relationship with your clients will keep them coming back to you when it’s time to do business again.

4.Grow existing business – by having a relationship with your clients, communicating with them regularly and getting to know their business and their business issues and objectives better, you may find yourself in a position to offer increased services to them, growing the value of the relationship to both parties.

5. Bring in new business – it stands to reason that a client you have a great relationship with is going to recommend you to others when they’re in need of the services you offer, so sit back and wait for that sweet referral business to roll in.

6. Benefit of the doubt – while the aim should always to be get things done right first time, and on time, from time to time, things can go awry. A strong business relationship can go a long way to buying you a little leeway, and granting you the benefit of the doubt.

7. Keep your business going through hard times – the loyalty you build through those strong business relationships can really pay off over time, as we’ve seen above. But it’s when times are tough that they can really pay off, as those you have strong business relationships with stand by you and support your business to keep it moving.
